DESCRIPTION:To mark the Christmas season\, we thought it would be a nice idea to have a social get-together and a chat this evening. We will therefore be meeting up in a local hostelry this evening for a festive drink. This will be a great chance for all of our members to socialise\, and perhaps to meet people that they haven’t spoken to before. DESCRIPTION:The second APG meeting of the season.  Nick Bowman will lead this discussion session to explore how EPC members might improve the quality of their images and prints. This could include: \n\nPlanning your shots to give yourself every opportunity to obtain images that have the potential to be good in-camera / drone / phone captures.\nHow to select which of your images have the most potential?\nChoosing the most appropriate crop?\nDeciding what size various elements in the frame should be?\nUsing the tools and skills you have to edit the image to the best of your ability.\nSeeking the views of others about how you might improve your work.\nDevelop your editing and printing skills regardless of whether you outsource or do your own printing.\nFrom the above determine your strengths and weaknesses and pick out a couple of areas for improvement.\n\nAnother aspect we can look at is how we can develop our skills in a different genre. For example\, Nick wants to develop/improve his water-sports images and achieve a similar standard to that of his nature images. What does he need to do achieve this aim? DESCRIPTION:This evening we will be meeting at the College to do some practical hands-on work for a change. Sharon will be bringing along her lightbox together with some flowers and other props\, and will demonstrate how to take images using this piece of equipment\, that you may not be familiar with. This is your chance to have a go at trying out this new technique with some guidance\, and Sharon will also demonstrate how she sets up her beautiful still life shots. \nIf you want to bring along your own camera equipment\, and have any questions on any aspect of using your gear\, we will be happy to give you any help and guidance you need.  read more
