On Wednesday 21st June 2017 Ely Photo Club held a very enjoyable End-of-Season DO. This included an excellent buffet at Ely Golf Club, and the presentation of awards to the winners in various competitions. The winners were announced by Secretary Nick Bowman, and presented by Chairman Martin Smith.
The Ken Hitch Trophy for 2 set subject prints – 2 colour 2 mono was won by Kevin Pigney narrowly beating runner-up Dave Hawkins.
The Ely Standard Cup for best aggregate score from 4 colour print competitions was won by Ian Kippax. The runner-up was James Billings.
The EPC Monochrome Print Trophy for best aggregate score from 4 mono print competitions was won by Kevin Pigney. Ian Kippax was runner-up.
The Bedford House Cup for best aggregate score from 4 PDI competitions was won by Kevin Pigney. The runner-up was Laura Galbraith.
The Jeff Gardener Cup for best aggregate score 8 Print & Image competitions was won by Kevin Pigney. Ian Kippax was runner-up.
The EPC Best Mono Print of the Year was won by Kevin Pigney with “Barn Owl in Flight.” Gary Mills was runner-up with “By the Light of the Silvery Moon.”
Colour Print of the Year was awarded to James Billings with “Aqua Eye.” Viv Houghton was runner-up with “Greylag Goose.”
PDI of the Year went to Nick Bowman with “All on our Lonesome – Cromer pier.” Clinton Edwards was runner-up with “Danny King British Champion 2016”
The Jackson Shield for Themed Image Panel was won by Nick Bowman with “Contemporary Architecture”, narrowly beating runner-up Kevin Pigney with “Deer Behaving Badly.”
The Portfolio Print Trophy for Themed Print Panel was won by Dave Hawkins with “Kite Surfing Silhouettes.” James Billings was runner-up with “Icelandic Waterfalls.”
The Chapman Shield for best aggregate score in Print and Image and never won a trophy was awarded to Laura Galbraith.
The Kippax Cup for best scoring aggregate PDI in external competitions was awarded to Kevin Pigney with “Eye Contact Short Eared Owl.”
The Tradelink Shield for best scoring aggregate Print in external competitions went to (guess who) Kevin Pigney for “Young Roe Deer”
