Digital Techniques session
This evenings meeting will be held in person at the College and will be one of our periodic “Digital Techniques” sessions run by John Harvey. The topics that will be covered are as follows:
First Half – “Introduction to Landscape and Wildlife Photography Styles”
John is a member of both Cambridge and Ely clubs, and has submitted his images to competitions held by both clubs. Some of those images have scored consistently, while others have scored better at one club or the other, so lets see whether you can can guess which ones got the variable scores! John will be explaining his choices of style when processing his images, and why that sometimes means that a judge will view his images differently.
After the break – “Processing Landscape and Wildlife Images”
We are conscious that we have quite a number of new members this year with more limited experience of post processing, so in the second part of the evening, John will start with some basic edits in Lightroom and Photoshop. John will then move on to more advanced editing, showing how to blend images together to achieve the ‘look’ that he wants, using High Dynamic Range and focus bracketing techniques.
The evening will therefore be extremely useful for members who are still learning about photography, but we hope that there will be something to learn for more experienced members as well.
We hope that you will be able to join us for an entertaining and informal meeting!
