This evenings presenter, Derek Gale will be talking about the techniques to use when photographing subjects with movement. This talk covers all aspects of movement such as stopping it, showing it, use of ICM, and making traffic vanish! Something a little different to stretch your imagination. This evening our Annual General Meeting will be followed by the Members Choice competition with both print and PDI sections. This is the last event of the season.

Chris has arranged a club outing to Cambridge for street, architecture and landscape photography, meeting outside Boots in Sidney Street at 11am. The EAF are holding an Advisory Day at Foxton Village Hall on Saturday 18 July 2026 for anyone interested in applying for an Award for Photographic Merit. A poster with information about the day is available here

Chris has organised a club outing for members to Snetterton's USA 300 Day. A range of American race cars with plenty of high capacity V8's will be on the track. Ely Photographic Club are delighted to have been given permission to hold an exhibition of our prints in Ely Cathedral's South-West transept, just inside the main west entrance door of the cathedral. The first meeting of each season is traditionally a "Meet and Greet" session for potential new members to the club. We will be running through information about the club and introducing key members, as well as answering any questions that you may have before breaking for a tea/coffee. The first regular meeting of this season's programme of events will be a presentation in person at the College by Peter Milsom on "The Power of Sport", talking about his photography journey and showcasing some of his amazing sports images. Diane Seddon will be presenting the second part of her talk called "Odd Things". Diane's work covers a wide range of photographic genres including fine art, drone photography, ICM, light painting, and much more. This evening we will be looking at some images submitted by members and discussing what people like or otherwise and ways in which they might be improved. This will be informal and designed to help people develop their skills in composition and processing of their work.
