Events

This evening is the annual competition between Ely, St. Ives, St. Neots and Swavesey clubs, which was hosted and won by Ely last year in a closely-fought contest. The hosting club for this year will be Swavesey. Midnight tonight is the deadline for submitting entries for next weeks first PDI competition of the season.

The first of our three league competitions for PDI's (Projected Digital Images) will be held this evening, and members can submit two entries each. (The closing date was 2 December). The judge this evening will be Clive Harward.

A chance for us all to get together in an informal and social environment at the Lamb Hotel in Ely to enjoy the festive season - you don't even have to talk about photography! The first event of the New Year! Roger has presented his talks to the club on many occasions, and the topic for this one has yet to be decided. More information to follow, but this will be a Zoom presentation.

Because of increasing membership levels at the club, we have decided to reduce the number of entries to three per person this year. This will be a themed competition for digital images, but the theme(s) have not yet been set. Ben Pike will be the judge this evening, and more info will follow nearer the [...][[wp-link-page]]

We will be in the Hall at the College this evening, and although the topics for this evening will be decided nearer the time, this is likely to be a "Digital Techniques" evening run by John Harvey. Multi award winning professional wildlife photographer Kevin Sawford will be presenting this evening. Kevin is based in Suffolk and runs a varied array of wildlife workshops on behalf of Suffolk Wildlife Trust, as well as courses at RSPB Minsmere and courses of his own. This competition is for prints on a theme of your choice, and you can submit between three and five prints. Only one panel will be allowed per member this year, and the judge for the event will be Colin Mill. Panels will not be scored, but the judge will select a First, Second and Third [...][[wp-link-page]]

This evening we will be holding a non-league competition on Zoom judged by Jim Bennett. Scores from this competition will NOT count towards the PDI League.  This is a new idea, so we will see how it goes! In previous years, three images were allowed to be submitted to each PDI League competition, with the [...][[wp-link-page]]

No meeting this evening. However, entries for our third and final Print League competition can be submitted until midnight tonight.
