Events

This evening we will be running our annual Ken Hitch Trophy competition, and the themes for colour and mono have been decided as follows: The colour theme will be "Patterns" and the Mono theme will be "Shadows". Richard O'Brien has been teaching Adobe Photoshop since 2005, and is an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop. Richard will be talking about shooting interior and exterior architecture, including gear, tricks, and thought processes from the point of view of an amateur photographer. The final print competition of the season will be judged by David Steel.  Please remember to submit your prints by 7.15pm at the latest, as late entries, or entries for which no pdi's have been submitted, may not be entered.

This has now become an annual competition, and this year it will be hosted by Swavesey. This competition will therefore be held on a Thursday evening, in line with their club meetings, and will start at 7pm.

The Championships are club-based competitions, rather like a "battle". Each participating Club enters 25 PDIs and/or 15 prints from a minimum of 5 members, but EPC do not usually enter the club-based competition - (however, members may submit individual entries to the individual EAF competition, as per email sent out on 7 January 2023 to [...][[wp-link-page]]

There will be no meeting tonight due the College half term.

This evenings APG meeting will be run by Kevin Pigney who will be looking at the exposure triangle, (aperture, shutter speed and ISO), and how each of those settings affect your images.

Rory O'Connor will be talking about his photography, and the details of his presentation are as follows: "My presentation is aimed at photographers interested in taking up Seascape and Wildlife (birds mainly) photography. I explain how easy it is to do both on the same shoot. I prepare, how I take and process my images. [...][[wp-link-page]]

We have been invited to compete in this prestigious event, which is limited to 30 clubs. The day starts with a public exhibition, prior to judging in the evening from 6pm. Paul Mitchell will be presenting his talk this evening on landscapes, including Paul's favourite woodland locations, such as Burnham Beeches, Savernake Forest, and other locations throughout the UK.
