Building on Peter Benson's previous presentation to us, ‘Photography on the Darkside’, this time Peter takes us on a journey to new locations using his night photography technique to produce some stunning images. On Saturday 11 January Ely College are running a free event designed to showcase some of the clubs, societies and voluntary organisations from the local community, and Ely Photographic Club will be running an information stall at this event. For more details, please see the poster here.
This year the competition will be judged by Clive Harward. The themes have now been decided and will be "Humour" in the colour section and "Abstract" for the Mono section.
This evening we will be running a practical demonstration on how to set up a portrait shoot, including how to arrange suitable lighting. This will be held at the studios of Muse Fine Art printing in Witchford (not at the College). We are aiming to have two studio setups available with backdrops and lights, and [...][[wp-link-page]]
Cambridge Camera Club are organising the annual Inter-Club digital competition which will be judged by Cherry Larcombe. The event will be held on the Saturday afternoon.
David Gilliver will be exploring the world of miniatures, showing us the tools and techniques he uses to produce images that can fool the eye with a new perspective. Using models, props and backdrops, we will be shown how to set up a scene ready for photography, and where to source the materials for these [...][[wp-link-page]]
This year the themed panel competition will be judged by Jonathan Vaines. You may enter between 3 and 6 prints on a theme of your choice, with supporting PDI's submitted to PhotoEntry 7 days in advance. This evening John Harvey will be running a practical demonstration of post-processing at the College, showing members how to make adjustments to Raw files in both Photoshop and Lightroom.
