On Wednesday 6 March 2024 we held the second PDI competition of the season at the College, and a very full entry of 77 images were judged by David Steel.

The following four images scored a maximum 20 points out of 20:

“Honey Bee at Work” by Nigel Lucas, “Fabulous Fungi” by Nigel Farrand, “Mayfly in the Sunflower” by Ryan Bailey, and “Backlit Hare” by Hedley Wright.

The following images scored 19 marks out of 20:

“Mute Swan in the Morning Mist” and “Mallards watchful eye” both by Richard Whitmore, “Bamburgh Castle in evening light” by Phil Lenney, “Insect-stick” by John Wilson, “River Coupall and Lagangarbh hut” by Maurice Wright, “Skywards in Moorgate” by Roger Newark, and “European Bee-Eater” by Bruce Liggit.

It was encouraging to see so many different members scoring so highly, well done to all of them. The highest-scoring images are shown in the gallery below (Click image thumbnails to expand):
