On 19 October 2022 we held our first print competition of the season. This was also the first time that we have held a print competition since February 2020, due to the Covid pandemic. It was really good to get back to holding a print competition in person, at our new venue in the Adelaide Hall of Ely College. The print competition was judged by Jim Bennett, who kindly stepped in at short notice to cover for us.

There were 36 colour and 16 mono images entered. The judge commented on the high overall standard of the entries, and the colour prints below scored a maximum 20 out of 20 points:

“Eilean Donan Castle” by Phil Lenney, “Highland Glow” and “Misty Morning on Verralls Fen”, both by Glynis Pierson, “Northern Gannet Sky Dance” by Nick Bowman, and “Stag Bellowing” by Kevin Pigney.

In the mono section of the competition, the images that scored a maximum 20 out of 20 points were:

“Hare backlit at sunset” by Nick Bowman, “Plains Zebra” by Bruce Liggitt, “Still Life with Chinese Lanterns” by Sharon Powell, and “Triple Trouble” by Kevin Pigney.

A gallery of all of the images that scored a maximum is shown below:
