On 14 February 2024, we held our final print competition of the season at Ely College, where 43 colour and 19 mono prints were judged by Naomi Saul.

Well done to everyone who entered the competition, there was a wide range of excellent images of a very high standard.

The following images scored a maximum 20 points in the colour section:

“Ballroom” by Sharon Powell, “Tommy Bridewell, UK Superbike Champion 2023” by Maurice Wright, “Lapwing” by Ray Watson, and “Red Deer Rut” by John Harvey.

Also scoring highly, with 19/20 points, were the following:

“Welsh Coast Nights” by Tom Codd, “Splat!!” by Ryan Bailey, “Lucien Delfour – Paddle Australia” by Kim Jones, “Sanday Sunset” by Andy Leggatt, “The Nave, Ely Cathedral” by Martin Smith, “Barn Owl with Vole” by Nick Bowman, and “Brown Hare Stretch” by Kevin Pigney.

In the mono section, these prints scored a maximum of 20 points:

“Whoops Too Much Pressure” by Nick Bowman, and “Life’s Journey” by Martin Smith.

These prints scored 19/20 in the mono group:

“Vanishing Point” by Viv Houghton and “Pining for the Fjords – Norwegian F-35A on temporary deployment” by Kim Jones.

The results of the print league for the season, the aggregate of all three competitions, is that Nick Bowman won the colour league, with 114 points, Kevin Pigney was second with 112 points, and John Harvey was third with 111 points. Full results for all members – Click here

The mono print league was won by Martin Smith on 59 points, Roger Newark and Maurice Wright were equal second with 55 points and in equal third with 54 points were Kevin Pigney, John Harvey and Glynis Pierson. Full results for all members – Click here
