Bury St Edmunds “Going Spiral” photographic competition

St John’s church in Bury St Edmunds is delighted to announce the launch of their GOING SPIRAL photographic competition and the launch event will be on 5 September 2018 at St. Johns Church, Bury St. Edmunds at 6pm.   Here in the lowlands of East Anglia it is more often than not the tall objects that catch our eye, and this is the theme of this year-long competition, with prizes totalling £2,000.  Entries may be in digital or print format, and there will be sections for both under 18’s and over 18’s. The judging will be on 5 September 2019 by professional photographers, and the winning and commended images will be on display at the Apex, Bury St Edmunds, and other venues in late 2019.  read more

Members Choice evening

On Wednesday 2 May the club held its first “Members Choice” evening, where members who had submitted one each of their favourite pdi’s and prints from the season had their images voted for by other club members. Two pdi images received the same number of votes, so by a show of hands the winning pdi was narrowly voted as  “Southwold Sunrise” by Phil Lenney, with “Anglesey Abbey Avenue coming a very close second and “Arctic Hare” by Richard Whitmore in third place. read more
