Experienced local judge Paul Radden will be telling us about his experienced of judging competitions over the years, and the second part of the evening will be interactive with members experiencing judging situations for themselves! Hopefully this will give us all an insight into how difficult judging can be, and lead to a greater appreciation [...][[wp-link-page]]
This competition between Ely, Melbourn and Bottisham&Burwell clubs, will be hosted by Bottisham&Burwell this year. It will therefore be held on a Tuesday evening and EPC members are encouraged to go along to the competition to support the club.
This evening is the annual competition between Ely, St. Ives, St. Neots and Swavesey clubs, which was hosted and won by Ely last year in a closely-fought contest. The hosting club for this year will be Swavesey. Midnight tonight is the deadline for submitting entries for next weeks first PDI competition of the season.
The first of our three league competitions for PDI's (Projected Digital Images) will be held this evening, and members can submit two entries each. (The closing date was 2 December). The judge this evening will be Clive Harward.
A chance for us all to get together in an informal and social environment at the Lamb Hotel in Ely to enjoy the festive season - you don't even have to talk about photography! The first event of the New Year! Roger has presented his talks to the club on many occasions, and the topic for this one has yet to be decided. More information to follow, but this will be a Zoom presentation.
Because of increasing membership levels at the club, we have decided to reduce the number of entries to three per person this year. We will be in the Hall at the College this evening, and although the topics for this evening will be decided nearer the time, this is likely to be a "Digital Techniques" evening run by John Harvey. Multi award winning professional wildlife photographer Kevin Sawford will be presenting this evening. Kevin is based in Suffolk and runs a varied array of wildlife workshops on behalf of Suffolk Wildlife Trust, as well as courses at RSPB Minsmere and courses of his own.
