On Tuesday 24 November 2020 the annual 3-way battle between Melbourn, Ely and Bottisham &Burwell clubs was held, with  each club submitting 18 images, which were judged by Alison Jenkins.

Congratulations to Melbourn who won the competition once again. Ely came second with Bottisham & Burwell in third place.

St Ives have decided to run an online exhibition entitled “A Day in Lockdown” in lieu of their normal annual exhibition this year – to view the exhibition please Click Here

Suffolk professional photographer Gill Moon is organising an exhibition to celebrate 50 years since the creation of the Suffolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with local amateur photographers contributing 50 images of the area.  The exhibition was to have been held in November 2020 at the ArtSpace Gallery in Woodbridge, but due to Covid this has had to be postponed until July 2021.  However, the exhibition will be available online from 14th – 28th November 2020, with prints available to buy. Ely Photographic Club member Phil Lenney was one of the photographers invited to submit images, and the exhibition catalogue is available here.  Prints can be purchased online at £45/print. read more

On Tuesday 20 October 2020 Robert Prenton-Jones will be giving a presentation on the art of composite photography.  The evening will be a joint one between the Bottisham and Burwell and Ely clubs, and Peter’s presentation should make for a very interesting and enjoyable evening.

On Wednesday 7 October 2020 our first pdi competition of this years season was held via the Zoom app. The judge, Jonathan Vaines, critiqued a large entry of 74 images. Results of the competition are now available on our Competitions Page, or click here

Andrew has recently circulated the programme for the forthcoming season. Thanks again to Nick for all his hard work compiling this in such a short timescale.

All events for the 2020 year have now been added to the Events page of this website, and those events for 2021 will be added in due course if the coronavirus situation doesn’t change significantly.

The Committee has worked hard to produce a schedule of events for the coming season, in these very difficult times, and have decided that the membership cost will remain at £50 for the 2020-21 season. We feel that, given the comprehensive programme, this represents good value for money with each session costing £1.25. Membership fees are now due, and details on how to pay these have been circulated by Andrew. We look forward to welcoming back as many members as possible for what should be an interesting and varied programme of events. read more
