Training Sessions on processing images

Following John Harvey’s excellent training evenings on processing images in Lightroom Classic, his comprehensive notes on this are now available at the bottom of the Help Page of this website. Notes on processing in Photoshop will follow once that training session on that has been held.

Many thanks to John for his hard work in producing these extremely useful guides.

Inaugural Meeting of the Club Online – PDI Competition No 4 and league results

On Wednesday 25 March 2020, the club held it’s first virtual meeting using Zoom, an online videoconferencing application. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently not holding our normal meetings, so this experiment was a useful one and definitely the way forward to keep club members in contact with one another. Training on how to use this form of communication, and the meeting itself, was organised by the Club Chair, Andrew Hunt, to whom we are very grateful for all of his hard work. On the night, the meeting was very successful, and we hope to arrange further meetings and events in this way for the time being.  This will mean that the club can continue to provide the best possible service to members in the current difficult circumstances.  read more

COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

IMPORTANT:

In view of the rapidly developing situation and the need not to put members at any risk, ALL of the remaining events scheduled for the remainder of the club season have been cancelled.

The final pdi competition images already submitted will be judged away from the club, and critiqued feedback and scores will be passed on to the relevant members in the next few days. This will conclude the pdi league for the season.

We would like to encourage members to utilise the EPC members Facebook group and share work – old and new – and seek any help they may require from fellow members. read more

St Ives Interprint Competition Result

On 22 February 2020  EPC competed in the St Ives Interprint competition, where 29 clubs from within the East Anglian Region (EAF) were participating. This competition is in its 38th year and is the most prestigious competition that our club competes in.

Each club has to enter 8 prints that are carefully scrutinised by the highly experienced Judge during the day and then the critique and scores are fed back in the evening session with the PDI projected on the screen so that the audience knows which print the Judge is referring to. read more

There were 11 clubs competing in the competition and each club entered 4 PDIs and 4 Prints. PICO was 1st with 146 points, Deepings 2nd with 145 points and we were in 3rd place with 140 points. We were quite pleased to come 3rd (5 points more than Wisbech in 4th who normally beat us) although we were leading the competition at the halfway stage by 2 points following a strong showing with our 4 PDI entries.
