Club Trophy results for the 2020/21 season

The winners of the club trophies were announced following the club AGM on 26 May 2021, and the results were as follows:

  • The Pre-Christmas PDI league was won by Kevin Pigney
  • The Ken Hitch Trophy (mono and colour) was won by Kevin Pigney
  • The Pre-Christmas panel competition was won by Sharon Powell for “Seasons on Ice”
  • The Post-Christmas colour pdi league was won by John Harvey
  • The Post-Christmas pdi mono league was jointly won by Sharon Powell and Ryan Bailey
  • The Post-Christmas panel competition was won by Kevin Pigney
  • The Jeff Gardner cup was jointly won by Bruce Liggitt and Kevin Pigney
  • The Chapman Trophy was won by Shirley Eastwood

    End of Season and AGM

    The end of the current season will be marked on Wednesday 26 May 2021, when we will be holding the club’s Annual General Meeting, followed by the announcement of the winners of the Members Choice competition for both mono and colour pdi’s.  All club members are encouraged to attend the AGM if at all possible.

    The new season will commence on 22nd September and we look forward to welcoming you all back then!

    A45 Trophy – external competition

    On Thursday 15 April 2021 the A45 Trophy external competition was held via Zoom and 8 local photographic clubs competed. Each club submitted 8 images and they were judged by John Wilcox.  The standard of images was excellent and there were a wide variety of different genres and styles.

    Of a possible maximum score of 160, two clubs each scored 145 points. The two Clubs were Ely Photographic Club and Bottisham and Burwell Photographic Club, and it was therefore mutually agreed to share the trophy this year. read more

    Advanced Photography Group – 4 March 2021

    For this month’s meeting, we have arranged for Jonathan Vaines to demonstrate some key Photoshop techniques including the use of some of the blend modes for lightening, dodging and burning and halo removal.  Jonathan will then show how to use layers to add elements, apply textures, etc and how to use the ‘Blend If’ feature.  Blend modes are one of the most powerful tools in Photoshop, so the evening will be very instructive and there will be something for everyone to learn whatever type of photography they do. read more

    Ely Photographic Club has now added both Twitter and Instagram accounts in addition to its existing public Facebook account, to give members and the public wider access to the clubs activities and images.
