Competition Winners 2021/22 Season

The results of our club competitions for the season were as follows:

5 Joint Winners of the Ely Standard Cup, with equal scores for the Post-Christmas pdi league, were Kevin Williams, Kevin Pigney, Ryan Bailey, Roger Newark and John Harvey
The Geoff Gardner Cup for pre and post Christmas pdi leagues, with the highest combined score, was Kevin Pigney
The Ken Hitch Trophy themed pdi competition was won by Roger Newark
The Jackson Shield (pdi panel competition) was won by Kevin Pigney
The Members Choice competition colour section was won by Kevin Williams
The Members Choice competition mono section was won by Phil Lenney read more

Landscape Photographer of the Year award

I have received the following info:

Could you be the next Landscape Photographer of the Year?

Entries are currently open for this year’s LPOTY. For the 15th annual awards, we are looking for images that capture the spirit of Britain and celebrate the wonder and joys of our landscape.

There are over £20,000 worth of prizes, with £10,000 awarded to the overall winner. Runner-up and commended entries will be included in a full-colour book and touring UK exhibition in the UK’s biggest train stations. read more

Presentation by Jonathan Vaines

Jonathan Vaines gave a fascinating and enjoyable presentation to us on Wednesday 16 March 2022, called “Life in the Blender”. 2-way Battle against Swavesey Camera Club – results

On Wednesday 23 February we held an inter-club competition against Swavesey Camera Club, with each club entering 25 images.

The event was judged by Paul Radden, and the result was that Swavesey scored a total of 413, and Ely scored a total of 429.

Congratulations to everyone who entered the competition, there were a wide variety of great images, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening’s entertainment!
