On Wednesday 6 December 2023 we held this seasons Ken Hitch PDI competition, judged by Jim Bennet, and some excellent images resulted in some very close scoring. Well done to Roger Newark for winning this event, (for the second year running!).

On Tuesday 28 November EPC competed in a 3-way print competition against Melbourn and Bottisham & Burwell clubs. The event was hosted by Bottisham and Burwell in their new venue of Swaffham Prior Village Hall, and the judge for the evening was Jonathan Vaines.
The result of the competition was that Bottisham and Burwell scored 302 points, Ely came second with 319 and Melbourn won with a score of 323 points.
Well done to everyone, and congratulations to Melbourn!
Our first Projected Digital Image competition of the season was held on Wednesday 22 November and 58 images were judged by Nick Akers. For the results, please see our Images and Competitions page, or Click Here
On Tuesday 14 November 2023, we competed in a 4-way inter-club competition. This event has been in place for a number of years but has not taken place since before Covid. The 4 clubs involved were: St Ives PC, St Neots CC, Swavesey CC and EPC, and the event was hosted by St. Ives. The competition involves each club submitting 8 Prints and 8 PDIs with each being marked out of 20, and the club with the highest aggregate score is the winner. The Judge was Colin Mill from Milton Keynes, and the scores were very close at the top, with similar scores by EPC and St. Neots. St Neots scored three maximum 20s against our two, and were declared the winner.
On 13 November 2023, Ely Photographic Club participated in the Pat Goode Memorial Shield competition, where ten clubs each entered four print and four pdi images. The event was hosted by Wisbech and District Camera Club at Wisbech Football Club. The judge for the evening was Richard Houghton.
EPC did not score as highly as we would have hoped, and did not do as well as we have in other recent inter-club competitions, coming eighth overall. The standard of work was extremely high, and the competition was won by PICO (Photographic Image Cooperative).
Our second print competition of the current season was held on 8 November 2023, and more details and the results can be viewed on our Images and Competitions page, or simply Click Here

Long-standing members of the Club will remember Rita Bickell, who was a stalwart of the club for many years, and who was the first person that many new members would get to know as she would always meet and greet them when they came to our meetings.
Ely Photographic Club are saddened to hear that Rita passed away in hospital in September, and our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
On Wednesday 18th October we will be holding our first print competition this season, and the 59 prints submitted for this will be judged on the night by Jonathan Vaines. Entrants must submit their prints as soon after 7pm as possible, please, with 7.15pm as the deadline. We are looking forward to an enjoyable evenings judging at the club – good luck to everyone!
